I have been metal detecting and gold mining for more than 20 years and enjoying sharing the tips and techniques that I have learned along the way. I do not profess to know everything about these fun hobbies and I welcome suggestions and tips as there are many good ways to do things.
What’s Unique About Treasure Barrel?
While there are many online recreational gold mining resources available, some are outdated, limited in scope, or are maintained by brand worshipping lackeys. Treasure Barrel is a brand neutral website. I only care about using the best metal detector or prospecting tool for a given objective without breaking the bank on unnecessary equipment or excessive functionality that will most likely not be used enough to justify the cost. I refuse to be a pawn of any particular brand and try my best to provide my opinions as objectively as possible.
I want to make your life easier by helping you to quickly find the answers that you seek so that you can get out there and find some of the gold without breaking the bank or falling for any of the sales gimmicks and worthless gear being promoted by some unscrupulous salesmen in this hobby.
