Metal Detecting Videos

Watching others metal detect is a great way to learn new skills and to evaluate metal detectors. Over the years, I have learned a lot from other detectorists in person and in metal detecting videos. I have decided to get out of my comfort zone and start making some of my own videos.

My plan is to make metal detecting videos that demonstrate a metal detector’s capabilities, showcase some of my better metal detecting finds, and share some tips that I like to use. The metal detecting videos that appear on this site are shot with a Canon M40 / M41 HD video camcorder. I am also considering picking up a GoPro Hero.

I am making these metal detecting videos for visitors to this website so please give me feedback. Do you prefer videos that show the metal detector screen and the find being dug, a video of items being dug, metal detecting tips? What do you like to watch and what things do you like to skip? What do you want to see? Email me james”@”treasurebarrel.com (remove the quotes)

Fisher Gold Bug Pro Playground Gold

Fisher Gold Bug Pro Gold Earring

Alas, I have now found my first piece of gold with the Fisher Gold Bug Pro, a 10 kt gold earring. It was not very deep, 1.5 inches and was a recent drop as I had detected that same spot the previous week.  It is filigree in nature so it does not weigh much but [...]
